The Equestrian Centre
Cherry is an Equestrian Australia NCAS Introductory coach. To be able to offer higher standard of coaching, she has almost completed her Level 1 coaching specialisation in dressage, and has commenced Level 2 accreditation components.
Cherry has been involved with horses since the age of 7, and has international equestrian experience spanning four continents, including an apprenticeship in Avalon Riding School (before it became Avalon Hillside and moved to Yokohama), then Japan’s busiest stable in Tokyo.
Following a successful corporate career, Cherry established MF Equestrian in 2011 with a vision of creating a boutique equestrian training facility where performance horses could be prepared for advanced riding careers.
Cherry has attended numerous clinics overseas with leading international equestrian coaches. Since returning to Australia, she has been studying under Sandra Pearson-Adams (Fellow of British Horse Society) in pursuing her coaching accreditation.
She is a member of the Feldenkrais Guild of Australia and currently the only Equestrian Australia registered coach who is an accredited Awareness Through Movement (ATM) practitioner. Cherry is currently studying to attain a global Feldenkrais practitioners license so that she can share through her coaching the tools and insights with a difference.
When it comes to lessons at the MF Equestrian training centre, Cherry offers students an empathetic approach to the development of both horse and rider in an atmosphere where the horse/rider team are encouraged to explore new experiences to achieve harmony on relaxed, beautiful grounds.
Lessons
Beau, Sparrow and Ella are quality riding horses who can cater to different levels of riders*. They are ridden several times each week by Cherry, who continues to progress their dressage schooling.
If you are not into riding, but would like a special time getting to know one of our beautiful big family members, Grooming Session might be for you: you’ll learn how to groom a horse, how to safely give them a treat and some of the basics of talking to them in their language.
*rider+saddlery weight restrictions of no greater than 20% of horse’s weight apply
Riding Facilities
The farm has a well maintained sand/fibre mix Olympic sized riding arena, round yard, and stables. There are a variety of paddocks and yards to meet different needs as well as guest horse day paddocks.
If you want to bring your own horse with you during your stay, let us know and we can discuss agistment arrangements.
The farm is a 10 minute float ride to the Nana Glen Equestrian Centre and Sports-ground and an ideal base if you’re involved with a weekend event.
